Welcome to the Tech-Integration Mini Mooc

This Mooc promotes the standards of the Leading Learning Framework from the Canadian Library Association

1. Facilitating collaborative engagement to cultivate and empower a community of learners.

1. Advancing the learning community to achieve school goals

3. Cultivating effective instructional design to co-plan, teach and assess learning

4. Fostering literacies to empower life-long learners

5. Designing learning environments to support participatory learning

This is our Guiding Question:

Please keep this in mind as we move through the MOOC:

How can educators increase student engagement, improve student achievement and differentiate learning pathways by holistically integrate technology into the learning environment?

This question can be a guiding question for you as you proceed through this Mini-Mooc. However, you may have other questions that you would like to pursue for your own learning.

The purpose of this Mini-Mooc is to facilitate rich, holistic and experiential applications of technology throughout the learning process.  You will be introduced to new technologies to experiment with and develop for your own lessons or practice, or with your learners.

Participation is entirely optional. This is very flexible, and you can put in as much as you want.

Personal reflection is a very important part of the learning process. It helps us to make new connections to our previous knowledge, gain new insights, and ask new questions that propel us further along our journey. Please feel free to keep your own journal, or contribute to the blog with insights, ideas, questions and more.

Our culminating task will be something that you will create to help yourself or your learners to pursue higher order thinking skills, knowledge and inquiry.

Objectives:

1. Build increased knowledge and understanding of technology and how it can be integrated holistically.

2. Develop a deeper understanding of how holistic integration of technology can facilitate higher order thinking.

3. Explore creative ways to think about how learners can apply their knowledge in various subjects or lines of inquiry.

4. Collaborate and connect with others. Form a new PLN (Professional Learning Network)!

5. Create new things with the help of technology.

6. Have fun!
